Regina Drug Unit (RDU) concluded an investigation into drug trafficking in the city of Regina with the arrest of a 20 year-old male, with support from the Regina Integrated Intelligence Unit, and Tactical Support Unit. This investigation ended with the seizure of a significant quantity of illicit drugs and cash. The value of this seizure is believed to be approximately $1.3 million.
On Thursday, July 4, 2024, the Regina Police Service conducted a vehicle stop on a suspected drug trafficker. A search yielded:
- 2 ounces of fentanyl;
- 2 ounces methamphetamine;
- ½ ounce of cocaine; and
- cash and other drug trafficking evidence.
A subsequent search warrant was executed at a short term rental residence on the 4600 block of Mutrie Crescent, where a search yielded:
- approximately 6 kilograms of fentanyl;
- over 5 kilograms of methamphetamine;
- nearly 1 kg of cocaine; and
- approximately $14,000 in cash.
As a result, 20 year-old Robin [NO LAST NAME], of India, is charged with:
- Possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine) [CC 355(A)];
- Possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine) [CC 355(A)];
- Possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl) [CC 355(A)]; and
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 [CC 355(A)].
The accused made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on Friday, July 5, 2024.
